Happy New Moon in Cancer
Happy New Moon in Cancer!
New Moons are all about fresh starts and new beginnings. We are smack in the middle of summer, where possibilities seem as endless as the summer sun. This new moon is especially powerful, as Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Use this transformative energy to call in something new. You are the artist creating the masterpiece that is your life. Picture the rest of your summer as a blank canvas. You get to paint and draw anything on it - what are you filling the space with?
Cancer, ruled by the Moon, is a sign all about intuition, emotions, and empathy, as well as taking care of their home (both physical and internal). This water sign is deeply emotional and loyal. They are sensitive - which can be a strength as well as a weakness. There are times where these crabs may want to retreat back into their cozy shell of a home.
Home is where we feel the most safe and comfortable. This is the home within us, which we carry no matter where we go, as well as our physical home that we create. It’s our cozy place we get to retreat to. And while it might be tempting, remind yourself while you are calling in newness, change can be uncomfortable. Sometimes change doesn’t feel as cozy as our home - and yet it will help us to grow and expand. Challenge yourself to get a little uncomfortable and leave your home, if only for a little while, knowing it will always be there for you.
And while you are growing and expanding, also consider how comfortable you feel within your internals home. The more connected we are to ourselves and feel authentic in our mind, body, and soul, the more manifestations will come in. The Universe loves to see us living in our authenticity.
This New Moon, consider how your emotions come into play in your life. Are you ruled by your emotions? Contemplate if you feel connected to your emotions and where they reside in your body. Some are easier to feel than others. Take note of these, and challenge yourself to feel the hard ones and where they take root in your body. Our bodies always tell us a lot, if we listen to them.
This is a highly emotional season of the year. There’s a lot of energy during summer, which can mean that people are at their peak go-go-go time. Are you taking care of your mental, physical, and spiritual health enough to be able to maintain that energy?
This New Moon, prioritize self care. Pause in the intense energy of summer to nap in the sun. Meditate in the flowers. Sit by the river and just be, without music or chatting or reading. Give yourself a few minutes of slow, to keep up with the high energy of go. Tune into yourself and listen to what your body and mind is telling you.
The more comfortable we get with our intuition, the stronger that muscle gets and the better that we can act and listen on it. Start to make a note in your phone of the times that you felt a ‘ping’ of your intuition and when you listened to that nudge. Those nudges tell us if our actions are in alignment with ourselves. Are we saying yes, when we really mean to say no? Are we saying no out of fear, or because we truly do not want to? Remember, the best things happen when we act out of fear. You are never truly ready.
Redefine what home means to you during this time. Find out how you can feel even more at home with yourself. New moons are all about calling in fresh energy and stepping out of our comfort zone. This is a potent time for manifestation. Manifestation loves authenticity - and that means feeling comfortable in ourselves.
Aligned Action
Settle in somewhere, whether that be inside or outside, in the shade or in the sun - and make yourself cozy. Lay in the sun, get comfy on your porch, and close your eyes. Envision your body as a home. Think of each part of your body as a different room in your house. How comfortable do you feel everywhere? What can you do to feel even better inside your home? What needs tending to? Consider fluffing up the pillows and cleaning out the cobwebs in the corners of your mind. Sprinkle love and kindness everywhere you go, and give yourself grace when it’s hard to do that. It takes strength and time to give yourself love and kindness everywhere. If it feels hard to do that, stay awhile in that room. Perhaps your mind has been talking to you in ways you would never speak to a friend. Stay in that feeling for a while and truly feel what it feels like - and what it would feel like to let it go. Give yourself love as you change the narrative. Perhaps there is a part of your body that you feel uncomfortable in. Stay awhile and give it so much love. Consider telling it how good of a job it does, rather than how you would prefer to alter it. Spread love all over your home inside.
