Funk It Coffee and Thrift was born from our indescribable love of thrift stores and coffee shops. Our dream is to inspire play and creativity within these walls.

Chloë & Markie
This dynamic duo are cousins by blood, and soulmates within the cosmos. This is not our first lifetime experienced together. Inseparable, we have been roommates, best friends, coworkers, business partners, and so much more.
Do we ever get sick of each other? No. If we haven’t talked for half a day, we have hours to catch up on.

☀️ Gemini Sun 🌙 Pisces Moon ♊ Gemini Rising
Hailing from Columbus, MT, she has dabbled in almost every art adventure you can possibly think of, expanding her creative soul in every way she can. She is a lifelong traveler and intentional living human. Her favorite coffee drink (for years) has been a salted caramel oat milk latte. She got addicted to caramel flavoring when she was six, thinking that flavor was actually called B52 from her mom’s latte, and was confused when she could never find that flavor in the pantry.
Chloë has always wanted to be the female sleuth character getting inspiration from Nancy Drew and Sabrina the Teenage Witch (hello Gemini) but the older she gets; her inner child cannot handle anything that leaves her on edge – thus explaining her love for Hallmark movies and books. We love a fairytale ending!
When getting dressed, Chloë loves to dress as the character she is going to be that day – whether it be a ceramicist, a business woman, a runner, or a librarian. She finds joy in putting together fun outfits that lead her on adventures every day, whether small or big.

☀️ Virgo Sun 🌙 Leo Moon ♍ Virgo RisingHailing from Shelby, MT, she has been a lifelong writer – first starting her own family newspaper with made up stories from all over the world as a little girl, and settling into short stories and poetry. She is also a lifelong traveler and loves to gather as many experiences as she can. Her favorite coffee drink is a honey and cinnamon latte – you can find her secretly adding SO MUCH CINNAMON to every single drink. Markie took years to enjoy coffee or tea, but a trip to the UK to visit a friend quickly changed her perspective on coffee AND tea – and now is a big lover of both.
Growing up, Markie was known as the mother of any friend group (hello Virgo) and fantasized on becoming a writer – for a while she was into writing scary novels, but quickly started scaring herself, so turned to free prose poetry.
When getting dressed, Markie loves to play around with loud patterns, fun colors, and anything quirky. Cheetah print is a staple in her wardrobe and forever will be. She believes that when you dress in a way that makes you feel like the most ‘you’ version there is, you are forever unstoppable.

Funk It is a thrift and coffeehouse that aims to welcome in and repurpose the worn out. The idea behind Funk It stemmed from wanting to create accessibility for all to afford unique pieces, and to start thinking differently on what waste is and our part in that cycle.
Our Home
The Keim building, also known as the Stensrud, is a registered historic building built in 1890 located in the Northside Missoula Railroad Historic District. It has been brilliantly restored, and continues to show off its historic charm. Not only do we plan to honor its inherent beauty, we hope to bring an essence of history for our community to enjoy all the while creating new memories in the space.
