Happy Full Moon in Cancer to our Funk It family!

It’s the first full moon of 2026. This moon has been shining bright for the past few days, guiding our path from 2025 to 2026. She is asking us to continue releasing what no longer serves and to live in alignment with our most juiciest, authentic selves.

This is the time where we let go of old patterns. It is the time of releasing old stories that no longer serve us - and to stop creating stories about situations that aren’t even true. Allow yourself the space to let go of all of this - and remember, it is all about consistency, rather than an all-or-nothing mentality. Let go of what you have been carrying. Allow this Full Moon to close doors so that new ones can open - and so that you have the energy to go through those new doors.

We are in earthy Capricorn season, a time all about discipline, structure, practicality, and stability. Let this ground you down in this new calendar year. Intuitive Cancer allows the emotions to roll through us like a tide - and the moon is at home in Cancer, making this an even more powerful time.

The new year can feel like a multitude of emotions. It’s a time where many of us set goals - things we wish to change - new habits or to stop doing things. And while this goal setting pairs well with Capricorn season, give yourself grace. It’s the calendar new year, yet not the cyclical new year. In astrology, the new year occurs in March during Aries season - the time when the world around us is coming alive, the world is in bloom, and the energy is palatable.

If you are feeling tired, low energy, and like snuggling in - allow yourself to feel this way. It is the season of hibernation and rest. Set some intentions for the new year, as we always welcome in any chance for reflection. However, do not put a ton of pressure on yourself to change everything all at once. Go with gentle grace into this month.

Use this time to really nestle into your home, just like the shell of a crab. Create your nest to feel like your safe place - the place where you can truly rest and recharge to feel at home, so that you can go out into the world ready to live.

Allow this full moon in Cancer to help you uncover your emotions. Lean into your intuition on the goals and intentions you have for this new year. Cancer is a water sign - let the water replenish and nourish you in your wishes and hopes for your future.

Shed what is blocking you for your future. Let it go. Revel in the lightness you feel from the weight you were carrying.

And remember, it’s all about consistency - not all or nothing.

ALIGNED ACTION

Pick an area of your home that needs to be decluttered. Put on a podcast, book, or music. Set the scene - light a candle, put on some cozy socks, and clean out the space. This might be a junk drawer you haven’t cleaned out in a long time - this small drawer holds weight, no matter the amount of mess in it. Clean it out. Get rid of what you do not need anymore. Start with something small, and see how you feel when it has been decluttered. Use this analogy to think of a small habit you are ready to clear out. This might be an old thought pattern that you do not wish to have. It may be a habit you have first thing in the morning that you are working on replacing. Whatever it may be, give yourself grace - and remind yourself how good it feels to let it go. The first step is simply trying.

Write down one intention for rest this winter, and one intention for the beginning of the year.

as always, thank you for being here - and thank you to the Moon for always guiding us.
