Happy Full Moon in Libra!
Welcome to the first full moon of the astrological year. Full Moons ask us to reveal what is no longer in alignment with our dreams and goals. When we let go of what is no longer serving us, it allows for more space for what does. Closing doors means new ones will open. And just a reminder: closing a chapter or saying goodbye to something does not take away the importance of it - it just means that you won’t be held back from it anymore. Allow yourself to step forward into your beautiful life.
This full moon is occurring in Libra, a sign all about love, harmony, relationships, and balance. Libra is an airy Cardinal sign and ruled by Venus. This full moon is asking us to reevaluate relationships in our lives and how you are balancing all of those relationships, especially the one with yourself.
Do you ever feel that your boundaries are crossed? Do you ever overgive, and find yourself feeling lost in the relationship with yourself? Remember, we need to tend to our own gardens before we tend to others. The more we can water our own flowers, the more we can water those that we love.
When we give to others, it should make us feel filled up - not less than. When we give to others when our cup is empty, it can cause resentment and other negative feelings. Giving should make us feel good - and that is why it is important to make sure that it is coming from a place of want rather than forcing it.
It’s also a good reminder that the extreme expectations to say ‘yes’ to everything typically come from within, rather than external pressure. (hint, hint: you show up better for others and the world around you when you prioritize yourself).
We are officially in Aries season, the first season of spring - and life is bursting all around us. Immerse yourself in the inspiration that is surrounding the world. Use the airy energy of this full moon in Libra to fan the fire that is your life and find what brings you joy and happiness. What can you let go of, so that more beauty enters?
Evaluate your relationships at this time. Consider what is filling you up and what is making you feel stretched thin. The spring energy can fuel us so much that we can forget how to say ‘no’ at times. Practice how it feels when you say ‘yes’ authentically.
It’s easy to take on everyone else’s feelings and emotions. When Libra is grounded, they are able to see and empathize with those around them and not take on others’ energy. A grounded Libra has good boundaries that do not push others away. Remember that boundaries are not scary - they create so much love and peace for yourself that you create even stronger relationships with those around you and yourself.
When your boundaries are lacking, it can show up in a multitude of ways. You can be quick to get annoyed or quick to anger, say yes constantly when you want to say no, find yourself consistently people pleasing everyone around you, and feeling resentment towards those you love.
Prioritize finding the beauty and abundance that surrounds you. Practice noticing the little things. Gasp over the clouds. Stop and listen to the birds. Wave at a stranger. And notice how the more you look for the beauty and good, the more that you find.
This full moon, ask yourself what you need to do to make your boundaries stronger. Ask yourself what you need to release so that you can be in better alignment with what you want right now. Ask yourself how you can show up more for yourself, so that you can show up better for others. And don’t forget to watch the world come alive all around you.
ALIGNED ACTION
Go for a walk in nature. Look at all the life that is bursting around you. Listen to the birds. Smell the flowers that are starting to bloom. Pay attention to how much everything is starting to grow and turn green. Touch the damp soil. Stand in the freezing cold water and feel the rush of coming alive. Think of what you are ready to let go of. Allow the wind or the water or the grass to take whatever is not serving you. Promise yourself how you will show up better for yourself. Stand outside in the next rain shower and wash away any frayed boundaries within yourself. Next time it rains, go outside and dance. Feel alive. What a gift it is to be here, right now, in this moment.
