New Moon in Scorpio

Happy New Moon in Scorpio!

New Moons are times of endless opportunities. They are periods of transformation, and for taking the leap towards your dreams. Picture a dark night sky as your canvas. Anything and everything can be painted on it (and also taken off of it). That is the energy that a new moon brings. Be brave enough to walk through the doors that swing open for you.

It’s Scorpio season, the season of life and death. It’s the season of beginnings and endings, of light and dark, of passion and introspection. It’s the time of year where we are extra thoughtful of ourselves: our patterns, our shadow work, and giving ourselves permission to grow and evolve.

Ruled by Pluto, this water sign governs hidden truths in the unconscious mind. Without intense emotions and psychological depth, it would be difficult to grow and change. And life is all about evolving as we move through it. We aren’t supposed to stay the same year after year. How beautiful is it to go through multiple periods of death and rebirth?

The days are getting shorter and the nights longer. We are entering into the darkest era of the year - the one where it is extra cozy. Use the flickering candles and shadows to get introspective on the numerical year that is coming to a close.

Be courageous enough to dive deep into yourself and your dreams. Consider what you are fearful of in your dream life. It might be scary to dream big. When we dream big, there are worries of the grief and sadness that might arise if it doesn’t come true. The safest thing to do is to not dream big and to stay comfortable. However, we aren’t here to play it safe. We aren’t here to move through life without chances. Without constantly failing and trying again, we would never succeed. It’s worth it to be afraid and go after your dreams. Try to replace fear with curiosity and see how it feels.

Be courageous enough to dive deep into your patterns and wounds. Shadow work is beautiful work. Utilize this time to understand yourself better. Give your past self love and grace as you remember that you were just trying your best with what you had. Learn from your past self. Help your future self with being aware of the past.

We are in the final months of the year. Use this season to become aware of your dreams, your hopes, your wishes. Face your shadow in this season of death and rebirth and be brave enough to meet yourself again. Be brave enough to let go of past versions. Just because you aren’t that version anymore doesn’t mean that you won’t remember them. Let go to make room so you can meet your future self.

Cozy in this season. Light extra candles. Lay in bed a little longer. Wear soft and cozy clothes. Snuggle into the comfort of the darkness, and thank it. Without the dark, we wouldn’t have the light.

ALIGNED ACTION

Light a candle. Put on a cozy outfit that makes you feel both passionate and warm. Sit with the candle for a few minutes while you consider your light, your dark, and your shadow (and if you are connected to it). Stare at the flickering flame. Think back to Scorpio season last year. Consider who you were one year ago. Look back on pictures to remind yourself what you were going through, how you spent you time, what you wore and what you did. Spend a few minutes thinking about how things have changed since then. Write your shadow self a letter. Explain how things have changed, how in tune you are (or how in tune you wish to be with your shadow self). Talk about your relationship with your shadow side and how things have changed (or not changed). Write a love letter to your shadow self on what you have learned, what you hope to learn, and how you feel about your shadow. Remember: it is important to love all versions of ourselves. We are not whole without every single part of us, and they all play an integral part in who we are. At the end of the letter, thank your shadow side for everything that you have learned. Tell your shadow you love them and that you wouldn’t be you without them.
